Synthetic Biopolymers (PLA / PLGA)
HS3913.90.00Standard
Polylactic acid (PLA) and poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) are biodegradable synthetic biopolymers produced by ring-opening polymerisation of lactide and glycolide monomers. These materials are widely used in pharmaceutical drug delivery (controlled-release microspheres), medical devices (resorbable sutures, bone screws), packaging, and industrial compostable plastics. SFERA sources pharmaceutical-grade PLA and PLGA from certified producers with full molecular weight, optical purity, and residual monomer characterisation.
